From Little Officer to Nursery Entrepreneur: The Journey of Dedication

Dear readers,

Today, I want to take you on a trip down memory lane, back to a time when my passion and dedication were just beginning to shape my life's path. Twenty-six years ago, in the summer of 1997, Indiana's Finest magazine featured an article that chronicled my love affair with law enforcement. Little did I know that the lessons I learned during those early years would resonate with me throughout my life and guide me to where I am today – the proud owner of a Wholesale Nursery business.

As a young boy of three, I was captivated by the sight of Henry Albrecht, the town marshal of Morristown, standing tall and resplendent in his uniform at a high school basketball game. From that moment on, I knew I wanted to be just like him – brave, committed, and determined to make a difference in the world.

My parents, Rosemary and Philip Nigh, saw the spark in my eyes and decided to nurture my fascination. They introduced me to Indiana State Trooper Steve Bond and Shelby County Sheriff Mike Herndon, both of whom became my role models and mentors. I collected patches, emblems, and other collectibles from various police departments, cherishing each one as a symbol of my future aspirations.

But my dedication didn't stop there. My father, Philip, recognized the importance of exposing me to different experiences and perspectives. He took me on business trips around Indiana, and we visited several Indiana State Police posts. Each visit expanded my vision and strengthened my commitment to my dream.

I remember vividly the day I locked my ankles together with real handcuffs, causing quite a stir. The embarrassment was a valuable lesson, teaching me the significance of responsibility and the importance of learning from mistakes.

As I grew older, my passion for law enforcement was unwavering. From wearing my Indiana State Police uniform to school, church, and even basketball games, to actively participating in Morristown law enforcement activities, I embraced my role as a young officer with enthusiasm.

Fast forward to today, and I now find myself immersed in a different kind of dedication – the world of landscaping and nursery business. As the owner of a Wholesale Nursery company, I have discovered that the same values that fueled my childhood dream are equally important in my professional life.

Just like my young self, I approach my business with an unwavering drive to be the best. My dedication to excellence is not only about providing top-quality plants and services, but also about going the extra mile to ensure that our clients, landscapers, and designers receive the best possible support and solutions.

Much like how I meticulously directed traffic during a truck accident years ago, I now strive to provide seamless logistics and dependable deliveries to our clients, making their job easier and more efficient.

Just as I issued "citations" to those not using turn signals back then, I now take pride in offering guidance and expertise to our clients, helping them create breathtaking landscapes and transform spaces into living works of art.

In my journey from a young boy dreaming of being a police officer to a nursery entrepreneur, I have learned that dedication, passion, and a commitment to excellence transcend any particular profession. These values have been the driving force behind my life's choices, leading me to success and fulfillment in both my personal and professional endeavors.

So, as you browse through our nursery offerings, know that you are not just buying plants from us; you are investing in a journey of dedication and unwavering commitment to making your landscaping dreams come true.

Thank you for joining me on this nostalgic trip and for supporting our Wholesale Nursery business. Let's continue to grow and thrive together!

With warm regards,

Nathan Nigh Owner, Wholesale Nursery
